Mees Vos (Amsterdam, 1994) is the principal horn of the symphony orchestra Phion, Philharmonic Orchestra of East Netherlands. He is also professor for french horn at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. In 2021 he succeeded Ward Assmann as chairman of the Dutch Horn Society.

After his preliminary studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and his bachelor studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, Mees continued his studies at the 'Franz Liszt' Hochschule für Musik in Weimar with Prof. Jörg Brückner. During his studies in Germany he was appointed as principal horn at the Staatskapelle Weimar, where he stopped in 2020 and made the switch to Phion in Arnhem.

Mees Vos regularly played with leading orchestras and ensembles in the Netherlands and abroad, such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Orchestra della Scala, the Verbier Festival Orchestra and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.

As a chairman of the Dutch Horn Society, he not only wants to connect amateur and professional horn players, but also wants to bring the horn to the attention of a wider audience.
